What makes this promotion unique to any in the Midwest is our “link”
to Brazil, the birthplace of modern MMA. Not only will we feature
MMA competitors from across the United States, but each show will
include a number of international fighters ready to prove themselves
in the States.
Link Fighting Championship will be a ticketed event with seating for
5,000+ people for the live event, with future plans to simulcast on
the internet. Current plans are for 4 shows per year with 10-12
fights per event. We will feature local amateur talent as well as
professional fighters who hope to advance to the Ultimate Fighting
Championship (UFC); the biggest MMA
promotion in the world.
Through advertising on TV, radio, print, and the internet; Link
MMA LLC is aggressively promoting this event. We are currently
securing time on local sports radio programs and the local news
stations to promote the event. We currently have agreements from two
UFC fighters to attend and promote the event.
LinkFC is an event that is sanctioned by the Kansas Boxing
Commission. It has been approved by the Wichita City Council, and
promoters are licensed through the state of Kansas. The event has
paid referees, judges, and medical personnel on the premises to
provide for the safety of the competitors.
Bottom line… this event will be huge. Why not be a part of it from
the beginning?
What is Mixed
Martial Arts (MMA)?
Simply put, Mixed
Martial Arts (MMA) is the fastest growing sport in the world today.
MMA was brought to the United States in 1993 by the Gracie family
and was quickly recognized as the most effective martial art in the
world. While Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is still the basis of MMA, it
is now obvious that it takes a well rounded, highly conditioned
athlete to excel in the sport today.
MMA competitors utilize a combination of BJJ, wrestling, boxing,
Karate, and other martial arts to secure a victory. There are a
number of ways to win including knock-out, submission, and judge’s
decision. Unlike how the sport was originally portrayed, it is a
sport with a high level of sportsmanship and technique. There are a
number of rules to protect the safety of the competitors. In fact,
the sport has been shown to be safer than other sporting events,
including boxing and football.
